I am more of a net person than a phone person. I liked to browse and search for things online rather than call up and find out things!
eBharatGas – the Good
Yesterday our LPG cylinder got empty. The Gas agency number had changed and I had a hard time booking a refill. I logged onto www.ebharatgas.com and found the numbers i wanted. Finally i got the new number of the Gas agency. After I call them up to book, they refuse and ask me to give a letter that I am still using the connection! I take their address etc and decide to go. But just to check up on the website www.ebharatgas.com, I go and raise a query asking why for a small family also I need to give a letter to the agency. In a few minutes I got an email stating my complaint number and that I’ll be contacted, but I didn’t expect any action.
Within 1 hour I got a call from the Bharat Gas Bangalore office stating that I need not give the letter and a refill has been booked for me!!
I could not believe what I heard! After all it was all unexpected. After all this in the next 1 hour the gas cylinder was actually delivered to my house!! I must say I was really impressed! It was amazing the kind of customer support that I got!
Tata Indicom – The bad
My broadband has been down for last 8 days. First the phone link went down so I wasn’t able to connect. I call up the call centre and register a complaint. After 2 days also nothing happens, I call up everyday … finally on the 3rd day some people directly come into my home. I didn’t open the door and asked for a ID Card. They showed with some hesitation and checked the phone lines etc. They did some checks and went back saying some issue in the outside connection. Finally I was able to see the line up but unable to browse! I call up customer care and complain. I get a new complaint number! I ask why they say first one because the link was down and second is because I am not able to browse! But hey they don’t care that I am finally unable to browse! Well it’s none of their issue you see.. I hate this kind of stuff. This is real bad “customer care”.
Well that was on the last weekend till now nothing has happened except that my anger at the customer care executives ( so to say!) increases! I can’t help it.. they keep saying ” I will escalate it at the highest urgency/priority”.. “I sincerely apologize” .. Well I’ve now lost all respect for the word “apologize” and “sorry”..After all things that are repeatedly said lose their value.. I’ve lost value for the “Tata” name. I can’t help it.. It’s really disgusting the way customers are treated.
The final punch came yesterday, the earlier complaint was closed saying “Backend has discussed with customer and confirmed issue is resolved”. Well for last 8 days it’s been me whose kept on calling repeatedly. No one has even bothered to check up with us whether it’s resolved! I ask for the complaint to be reopened, but get a reply “Sorry ma’am, cant’ reopen, will give you a new complaint number”.. I could not believe what i heard!
Sunny Bhaiiya would have said “Complaint pe complaint pe complaint, kab tak chalega yeh??” [ Damini]
To make things worse, I cannot disconnect the connection. We have paid for 4 months of it! The good part is it’s another month of horrible connectivity or none of it actually! This was realised after we begged them to disconnect due to poor service! They say we wont’ refund the amount! I have actually hit the axe on my leg with my own hands! Sigh who knew this ??
Stuck
But to sum it up, to get good service I pay, after which I pay for no connection and for making calls to complain and then to check up on the complaints! Well the consumer is the loser here..
Any fellow bloggers went heard of such customer care ? Wouldnt’ say it as “care” it would rather be “harrasment”.

After ‘n’ number of calls ( n tends to infinity!), finally yesterday night a Tata Indicom person came and checked up on the Router settings! and then he realised that the router settings had gone for a toss! Thanks to the linesmen who had come to check earlier if the ‘link’ light was on! They had pressed the reset button on the router! And thanks finally to Tata Indicom we were without net connection for 10 days! Only to be more irritated at those guys!
Right now I hate if those guys says “Sorry” or “I Apologize” or “I understand”.. it finally means “I’m not bothered!”
Whatever it is.. do not go for Tata Indicom Broadband. It’s really baddddddddd!

same situation with my dataone line
been such a long time and they waste so much time going thru the scripts.
DP,
Is your net connection up then ?
The problem with mine was that the Tata Indicom people who had come to check the phone line has pressed the reset button on the Router! That wiped off all the IP settings ! that’s why for 8 days I was stuck! Real Dumb I Say!
Now it’s up .. but dont’ have hopes that it will up for long!

reset button clears the IP’s!! that’s a real stupid device then, considerin the no. of times i’d press mine router’s to try n get a link to the internet.
p.s. is the typo in your email address actually in the email id as shown on the right side of this page?
DP,
Ya! Dont’ confuse this with power on button though.
That email id was a typo. Corrected it now. Thanks!

Hi Ashu,
I don’t think, Tata Indicome can challenge BSNL broadband customer care in the terms of bad services. I experienced such a bad service from BSNL Bangalore. I shifted my phone when i shifted my house. It was around more than two months now. Almost everyday I am calling to BSNL customer care office and i was told one guy would come today or within one hour and all. But, actually I was being fooled by them for the last two months. Nobody turned around. At last i burst out to them then they said they don’t have infrastructure to give a broadband connection there. But, from further enquiry i came to know that they have whole infrastructure to give the connection but the cable was faulty in that area and BSNL is not at all bothered to get the line repaired. The old fellows in BSNL does not the meaning of service. Thats why i said Tata Indicom cannot challenge BSNL by any means in terms of service.

jimmysunny,
Yeah that’s true. But finally even TataIndicom is VSNL! all govt organisations work the same! No difference.

[...] Tata Indicom Customer Harassment Story continues yet again. With endless calls to the most disgusting customer care in Bangalore, nothing [...]
They have the most pathetic customer care ever to go with their crappy internet service. I wonder when will they make an effort to improve on it.
Hi, its true eBharatGas is Good. We have shifted our house and wanted to transfer our gas connerction. We contacted the new agency – Manav Enterprises, Frazer Town, Bangalore – and provided the necessary papers and ID proof. They told that they will provide new number once the owner comes in the evening. Then every day, whenever I called them they told today evening it will be done. One week went like this. On 8th day when I called them again, they responded so rudely and asked me to talk to owner in the evening. Then we called Bharat Gas CRC at bangalore (http://www.ebharatgas.com/ebgas/pages/customer/cs_relation&emergency.jsp) and told our story. They immediatly contacted the concerned agency and asked us to collect the new number that day evening. Yes it worked! we got our new number by evening. Its so painful that these gas agancies take people for granted.
